Heading into the 2023 offseason, the New York Giants were identified as a team that needed more offensive weapons.

Last year, the Giants made the playoffs under Brian Daboll, his first year as their head coach.

While this was an impressive accomplishment, especially given their preseason expectations, there is room for growth in 2023.

The Giants organization responded, signing Darren Waller in free agency.

Waller has been an impactful tight end throughout his NFL career, and it appears that the Giants believe in him.

In a recent interview, Daboll expressed his thoughts on Waller, saying: “I’m happy we have him.”

He later said, “Whatever we feel is best for him and our team, is what we’ll try to do.”

As a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, Waller established himself as one of the league’s best pass-catching tight ends.

By adding his veteran leadership to the team, Waller will not only be a valuable weapon for Daniel Jones, but an impactful locker room presence as well.

Throughout his career, Waller has been identified as a great teammate, someone that others want to be around.

One player that this could especially impact for the Giants is Daniel Bellinger, their second-year tight end.

Bellinger’s first NFL season in 2022 included 30 receptions, 268 yards, and two touchdowns.

With Waller in their tight end room, Bellinger can learn from his career thus far, and hopefully develop into a better weapon as a result.

The NFC East had three representatives in the playoffs in 2022.

Can the Giants make it back there in 2023, making an even deeper run?
