Last season, Paul Goldschmidt gave the St. Louis Cardinals and their fans a run to remember.
The 35-year-old slugger went on a tear and ultimately finished the season with a .317 batting average, 35 home runs, and 115 RBI.
That was enough to earn him National League MVP honors.
So far, the Cardinals slugger is off to a pretty good start in 2023 and has seemingly picked up right where he left off.
In fact, in each of the Cardinals’ first four games, the veteran slugger has picked up multiple hits.
With this start, he has matched a few Cardinals legends and is only two behind Curt Flood and Emmet Heidrick for the most multi-hit games to start a season in team history.

The last Cardinal to accomplish such a feat was team legend Ozzie Smith, who had four multi-hit games to start the 1989 season.
Goldschmidt also hit his first home run of the season on Monday as the Cardinals fell to the Atlanta Braves by a final score of 8-4.
So far, it appears that the 35-year-old has picked up right where he left off after his MVP season.
He’s swinging a hot bat already in 2023 and has helped guide the Cardinals to wins in two of their first four games.
This is a streak that Goldschmidt will look to continue on Tuesday as the Cardinals take on the Braves in Game 2 of their three-game set.
The Cardinals sit just one game behind the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers, who are tied at the top of the NL Central.
