Kawhi Leonard of the Los Angeles Clippers might be one of the best basketball players alive but he certainly isn’t one of the most talkative.
Leonard’s quiet nature has always been one of his most notable features.
Even when his teams have won the NBA Finals, Leonard has never seemed fired up, explosive, or emotional.
On Wednesday night, the press asked him about his team’s victory over the Los Angeles Lakers and NBA writer Tomer Azarly caught an interesting response from Leonard.
When a reporter asked if Leonard felt that the game was the “most meaningful” one he had played against the Lakers since coming to the Clippers, Leonard was direct: “I didn’t feel that way.”
The reporter continued: “With everything at stake, you didn’t…”
But Leonard cut them off with another “I didn’t feel that way.”
Reporter: “Is this the most meaningful game you’ve played against the Lakers since you’ve gotten here?”
Kawhi Leonard: “I didn’t feel that way.”
Reporter: “With everything at stake, you didn’t —”
Kawhi: “I didn’t feel that way.”

For the evening, Leonard was solid with his 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, helping propel his team over the Lakers, 125-118.
Did he really feel that it wasn’t the most meaningful battle between these two teams?
Or was Leonard just trying to be low-key and hide his emotions?
The rivalry between these two teams has only gotten bigger over the last few years, but the Clippers have always had the upper hand.
Wednesday night’s win over the Lakers was their 11th in a row.
The Clippers jumped up to the fifth spot in the West following the win while the Lakers remain in play-in territory in seventh place.
It obviously was a very impactful and meaningful game, no matter what Leonard said.
However, the more meaningful games are obviously ahead for the Clippers.
