It’s been way too long since Seattle last had an NBA team.

The Seattle SuperSonics boasted one of the most loyal and loudest fanbases in the world, and it was a major shame when the team had to relocate to Oklahoma City.

Some fans still rooted for the Thunder, but most stood loyal to their ground and claimed that they would never wear another team’s jersey.

So, now that Seattle Seahawks players Quandre Diggs and Bobby Wagner have vowed to get an NBA team back to the city, plenty of fans took to Twitter to show their hype and excitement.

Seattle has been the most obvious destination for any potential expansion NBA team from the very second they were left without a franchise.

The NBA has shut down all talks about an expansion, but they could definitely handle one right now, at least talent-wise, and Las Vegas has also been pushing for a team of their own for quite a while.

There’s no doubt that an NBA team in Seattle would be a massive success from day one.

The Sonics were used to playing in front of sold-out arenas, and the fans have been craving to get their team back for years.

Wagner is already a bit of a legend in Seattle, and fans would rally to make a statue or build a park named after him if he were responsible for giving them their beloved Sonics back after all these years.
