The Philadelphia 76ers have no more room for excuses.
We can all agree that the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics look like the teams to beat in the Eastern Conference, but it feels like it’s now or never in the City of Brotherly Love.
With that in mind, ESPN’s Alan Hahn recently claimed that Doc Rivers is the coach under the most pressure to win an NBA championship right now.
Hahn claims that, even though Doc already has a ring with the Boston Celtics, people in Philly only care about what you do with their teams.

Moreover, there has been plenty of chatter about the team potentially moving on from Rivers if they underperform in the playoffs again.
Notably, Hahn might be onto something here.
It’s true that Rivers could be on the hot seat with another early playoff exit.
The Sixers currently have the leading scorer and leading assister in the NBA, not to mention one of the best records in the league, so there’s absolutely no reason or valid excuse to think they shouldn’t be a legit championship contender.
Also, with all the rumors about James Harden potentially leaving the team in the offseason, they have to make the most of this core and championship window while they still can.
It’s been way too long since Rivers last won a ring or made it to the NBA Finals, so the pressure is on for the veteran coach.
