The Golden State Warriors weren’t prepared for the Los Angeles Lakers last night.

Darvin Ham won the chess matchup vs. Steve Kerr, and the latter will have to adjust accordingly to get back in this series going forward.

With that in mind, Draymond Green thinks that the Dubs will need to focus on handling an off-ball LeBron James, which is something rather new.

Green explained that they’re not used to seeing LeBron play off the ball so much instead of running the show as per usual.

That’s an interesting assessment, for sure.

This might as well be the best supporting cast LeBron has had around him in the playoffs, and it’s also the most he’s been supported by his cast, if that makes sense.

This Lakers team doesn’t need him to go off for 40 points a night just to have a chance to win, and that’s huge for a guy in his 20th season and at age 38.

LeBron can give up some ball-handling duties with D’Angelo Russell or Dennis Schroder on the floor.

He doesn’t need to drive all the time because Anthony Davis is doing his thing down low.

He has Jarred Vanderbilt as a 3-and-D wing, and Austin Reaves gives him a never-ending source of energy on both ends of the floor as well.

It was about time that James was able to take a step forward without hurting his team.

But the Warriors are too well-coached, so you better believe they’ll figure out how to counter this new version of LeBron as well.
