The month of April has come and gone, and now the 2023 MLB season is in full swing.

With May now underway, now is a good time to take a look back at April to see who some of the top teams and performers were.

Gerrit Cole certainly had a strong month on the mound, earning American League Pitcher of the Month honors.

However, he was not the only clutch performer this past month.

Bullpen arms are taken into account as well, and two relievers in particular had some strong performances in April.

On Twitter, MLB revealed Josh Hader and Felix Bautista as the top relievers of the month.

Bautista posted a 1.32 ERA over 13.2 innings of work.

The Baltimore Orioles closer also struck out 25 batters and recorded seven saves during the month of April.

Hader’s stats were equally impressive.

The San Diego Padres left-hander had an ERA of 0.69 in April over 13 innings of work.

The veteran closer also struck out 17 batters and recorded 10 saves.

Both relievers had dominant stats in the month of April and are off to strong starts this season.

The Orioles and the Padres are both playing solid baseball as of late as well and appear to be headed for another year of postseason contention.

Baltimore won 83 games last year and barely missed out on the third Wild Card spot in the American League.

But with Bautista racking up saves, the Orioles may be a force to be reckoned with.

The same can be said for the Padres if Hader continues his run of success.
