The Boston Red Sox came into the 2023 season looking to prove doubters wrong after losing Xander Bogaerts, J.D. Martinez, Michael Wacha, and Nathan Eovaldi in free agency.
However, they added some key pieces such as Justin Turner, Adam Duvall, and Masataka Yoshida to bolster their lineup.
Despite all of the changes to the lineup, the Red Sox have performed quite well on the offensive side.
On Twitter, a Red Sox analyst posted some numbers indicating just how good the Red Sox offense has been to start the 2023 season.

The Red Sox rank third in all of baseball with a .270 team batting average.
They rank third in runs scored, OPS, wOBA, and wRC+, which are all key measurements for hitting.
They’re also fourth in on-base percentage and slugging percentage.
Boston ranks fifth in home runs and sixth in strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Needless to say, the Red Sox are beating expectations at the plate.
Keep in mind that Boston is doing this without another key hitter, as infielder Trevor Story has been injured to begin the season.
The moves to sign Turner and Yoshida have clearly paid off up to this point.
Soon, Duvall will return to the lineup while giving the team a big offensive boost in the power department.
Also, Story will eventually make his way back to the lineup for Boston.
The Red Sox have won five games in a row while improving to third in the American League Wild Card race.
Boston has outperformed expectations so far and appears to be on pace to surprise some people this year.
